I originally created Running in Wingtips in 2012 in an effort to assist those struggling to achieve success in finding the delicate balance in life between Family, Business, and Life. Although I am no expert, I have had my share of success and pitfalls which by sharing these stories can potentially help others find their own balance in life.
It became clear within the first two years of RIW that the most meaningful and commented articles surrounded the topic of autism and the obstacles and challenges encountered by my autistic son Jackson as well as the massive parental challenges resulting from all aspects of autism.
Following the release of my first book The Mystery of Jack, there was an overwhelming number of requests from RIW readers suggesting a format change to focus solely on the effects autism has on a family’s life. Therefore, in 2016 the blog was changed to RIW – autism through a father’s eyes. I hope to bring value to the readers through sharing life experiences and observations in my own never-ending quest to achieve success managing through the never-ending challenges of autism. As I share personal experiences, I believe you will be amazed by the similarities to your own life. Even better, you may witness a challenge or obstacle that you have not yet encountered but now may know how to avoid. Although article topics range from light-hearted challenges of a parent to serious practical issues, each article is designed to be relevant and bring value to the reader.
The greatest joy and success in life is often the direct result of a balanced life – even one that includes Autism.
